The city committee will meet virtually on Wednesday, April 10 at 7:30pm to hold its reorganization, where we will elect Somerville Democratic City Committee officers for two year terms. Please RVSP below to receive the Zoom information and join us for this meeting.

Eligibility to Vote: You are eligible to vote if you are a member of your Ward Committee (either elected on the primary ballot or if added on at a meeting of your ward committee). Everyone is welcome to view the meeting. 

If You Plan to Run: The Somerville Democratic City Committee officer positions are: Chair, 1st Vice Chair, 2nd Vice Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, and Diversity Officer. More details about each of these roles can be found in the Somerville City Committee Bylaws. 

If you are interested in running for an officer position, we encourage you to share a brief candidate statement by emailing [email protected] by 11:59pm on Sunday, April 7. Any statements submitted by that deadline will be shared with the SDCC membership in advance of the reorganization meeting. Nominations will also be welcome during the meeting itself.

Ward committees will hold their reorganizations separately sometime prior to the citywide reorganization meeting. Please get in touch with your Ward Chair with any questions about ward committee reorganization.
